A NEW ERA İN THE ENVİRONMENTAL FRİENDLY NEİGHBOR CARD
A new era in the Environmental Friendly Neighbor Card

Turkey's first and only award-winning recycling project, which forms the basis of the "Zero Waste" project carried out by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, started in a brand new period with the Green Neighbor Card in the new year.
The Environmental Friendly Neighbor Card project, celebrating the 5th anniversary of Muratpaşa Municipality, started as a pilot study in two neighborhoods in April 2016. With the project, which started to be implemented in the entire district in a short time, approximately 16 million 113 thousand kilograms of qualified waste were collected from homes in 5 years. Muratpaşa residents earned 5 million 190 thousand liras with the qualified waste consisting of glass, paper, plastic and metal they did not throw away.

Muratpaşa residents separated qualified domestic wastes such as glass, paper and plastic at their source and delivered them to the Environmental Friendly Neighbor Card teams passing through the street at the specified day and time. Muratpasa members earned points that they can spend in contracted markets, bakeries, and donate to students as scholarships in return for their sorting. Points have been loaded on Green Neighbor Cards.

Muratpaşa Municipality has collected 15 million 543 thousand 241 kilograms of qualified waste from the homes between April 2016 and the end of December 2020 with the Environmental Neighbor Card.

In the new era, the Environmental Friendly Neighbor Card has now become used wherever there is a credit card pos device, without the limit of member businesses. In addition, it became possible to withdraw environmentalist points in cash from any ATM in the new period.
