Muratpaşa Mayor Ümit Uysal participated in the opening workshop of "Human Rights Based Approach Advanced Level International Education Program" conducted by the Swedish International Center for Local Democracy (ICLD). The online workshop will end on March 31st.

Esenyurt and Mersin Metropolitan municipalities were accepted in the program, which aims to integrate a human rights-based idea into municipal services and activities. The program also includes municipalities from Albania, Georgia, Macedonia and Ukraine. The program, which will last for 18 months, started with an online workshop. Mayor Uysal also attended the opening workshop that will end on March 31st.

Mayor Uysal said that with this program, they aim to diversity the projects developed by the municipality for the needs and problems of disadvantaged segments of society. Mayor Uysal also added that they aim to strengthen their policies that make district residents have a say in the production of public service through the website of komsumeclisi.com, Turkey's first digital democracy platform.
